Tri-State Dharma and Cincinnati Dharma Center are offering a:

Continuing Insight Meditation Course
Dependent Origination and other teachings of the Buddha

Eight-month program for practitioners of the Dharma – October 2025 to May 2026

For those already familiar with Insight meditation and who wish to deepen their practice of the Dharma, this course is offered.

Requirements:

Must have been in one of Joan’s previous courses or have a very good understanding of the basic teachings of the Buddha.  Each session there will be teachings, guided and silent meditation, and group discussions.  We are all teachers and have wisdom to share.

In-Person monthly gatherings are at the Buddhist Dharma Center of Cincinnati, on Moline Ct. off Hamilton Ave. in Northside.  For those out of town or who are under the weather, there will be a Zoom option.

For those in-person, wholesome lunches of vegetarian soup, salad, bread, and dessert are provided by students.  You will be asked to volunteer at least once to bring in something for the shared lunch.  Tea is provided. 

The monthly gatherings are on the First Saturday of the month, except for...

Joan Staubach is an active member and president of Tri-State Dharma. She is an experienced practitioner of Insight Meditation. She has been practicing since 1999. She has taught and co-taught the New Year’s Retreat for over 15 years, led daylong retreats, and taught numerous Insight Meditation classes. Please do not sign up if you are not committed to attending each monthly session and doing the contemplations during the month.  Sometimes something can come up where you might miss a month, but please consider this a rarity.  Do your best to come every month.

The program is FREE.   Joan is offering the program on a dana basis.  There will be a basket at each in-person class and/or links for various ways to donate to Joan should you choose to do so.

What we Provide

We have teachers that are willing to teach. We are available for individual instruction or if you have a group of friends who are interested, we can setup a class.

Wendy Eisner has been practicing insight (Vipassana) meditation since 2002. She is an active member and corresponding secretary of Tri-State Dharma. In 2017, she completed the Community Dharma Leaders program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, a two-year training program for teachers in the Buddhist Theravada tradition. She has taken Matthew Flickstein’s Vipassana meditation teacher training course. Contact Wendy by email.
